Email Configuration

Thunderbird Server Information

Step 3: Server hostname can be use in two ways: Incoming Mail Server (POP3) and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). You can use either of these two.

Select POP3 for Incoming and put mail.yourdomain.com for the server hostname and put 110. Leave the Authentication as Autodetect.

For Default Outgoing (SMTP), put mail.yourdomain.com for the server hostname and put 587 for the port. Click Re-test button, it will look for the configuration set up.

non-SSL 25 or 26
TLS 587
SSL 465

Once done, user will be prompt with a warning, simply tick the “I understand the risks” and click Done to proceed.

After proceeding, the set up will check for password and some settings made for few seconds. The window will close or simply click Done once it finish checking the settings.

User can make sure that the email has been created by looking at the left panel of the screen.


MINT SMTP

For SMTP setting in Thunderbird, just edit the previous default account setting by only changing its port number. Select the Tools from the top menu tab. Click on the Account Setting to configure the SMTP settings.

Select the Outgoing Server (SMTP) tab. select the default setting and click the Edit button to configure the setting.

Enter server name as smtp.mint.com.bn. Change 2525, 8025, 587 or 25 for non-SSL. TLS is available on the same ports. SSL is available on ports 465 and 8465.

Type in username to be used for the SMTP server. Click OK to complete the SMTP account configuration process.

After completing the details, select your email account and set it as default. Click OK.

You can make sure that the email has been created by looking at the left panel of the screen.

DEFAULT SMTP

For SMTP setting in Thunderbird, just edit the previous default account setting by only changing its port number. Select the Tools from the top menu tab. Click on the Account Setting to configure the SMTP settings.

Select the Outgoing Server (SMTP) tab. Select the default setting and click the Edit button to configure the setting.

Enter server name as smtp.mint.com.bn. Change the port number to 25 as its SMTP default port number.
